NEW YORK, 13-17 March - A parliamentary delegation organised by EPF today concludes its participation at the 61st Session of the UN Commission on the Status Women (CSW 61). Over the past five days the delegation has attended plenary sessions, side events and conducted a number of meetings with partners. The five parliamentarians are from Belgium, Cameroon, Finland, Ireland and Malawi.

BRUSSELS, 1 March -- Almost 400 parliamentarians from countries in Africa, Europe and Latin America have signed a high level statement opposing the Global Gag Rule (GGR). The statement is an initiative of PAI ; while EPF along with our sister parliamentary networks in Africa (FPA) and Latin America (IAPG) provided support in mobilising parliamentarians.

PARIS, 16 February 2017 –The French National Assembly passed a bill banning websites that carry false information with the aim of dissuading women from having abortions.

MADRID, 14 February – The Spanish, Basque and Catalan APPGs met in the Spanish Senate for a dialogue with CSOs, representatives of state and regional governments and international organizations. The theme of the meeting was promoting sexual and reproductive health within the 2030 agenda. In all, over 40 people participated in the dialogue.

BRUSSELS, 6 February – Belgian MEP Hon. Hilde Vautmans published an opinion article on the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation. In the article, published in MO magazine, she urges the European Commission and member states to redouble their efforts to play an important role in ending FGM worldwide.
