BRUSSELS, 11 July - Europe needs to do more to support sexual and reproductive health and rights of people living in countries of poverty. This is the central message from the new Euromapping report, released by the Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung (DSW), and the European Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development (EPF) to mark World Population Day.

BRUSSELS, June 30 - The Commission on Foreign Affairs of Belgium’s federal parliament has unanimously adopted a resolution for the implementation and follow-up of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in the 2030 Agenda. The resolution was submitted by Hon. Sabien Lahaye-Battheu, president of the Belgian APPG. BRUSSELS, 26 June – Co-chair of the European Parliament APPG, Hon. Sophie in ’t Veld MEP, has sharply criticized Polish legislation to require a doctor’s prescription for the morning after pill. “The current populist national-conservative Polish government is enforcing a sexual counter-revolution, against the health interests and wishes of Polish women and girls,” she said.

LONDON, 26 June – The UK APPG held an AGM to reestablish the group following a general election in early June. No member of the APPG lost their seat in the election and invitations to join the group were sent to newly elected members of parliament. Some days earlier Baroness Tonge, Co-Chair of the APPG, paid tribute to the late Dr Babatunde Osotimehin during her the House of Lords debate on the Queen’s Speech.
