In 2003 I had the chance to be part of the International conference on female genital mutilation (FGM) and other harmful traditional practices in Addis Ababa. I was deeply touched by the enormous physical and mental effects of this human rights violation. Coming back to Vienna I founded the Austrian Platform stopFGM. Since then I became aware of the crucial importance of SRHR. Now I am proud to be part of EPF since 2009, meanwhile with a much broader scope. Being an active member of the national and international pro-choice movement is key for many of my political activities.
