Delegation to 2017 Ouagadougou Partnership meeting

Conakry, 11-14 December: A parliamentary delegation of 10 MPs from African and European countries participated in this year’s Ouagadougou Partnership meeting in Guinea.
Building on experience from past editions, this year’s annual meeting reviewed progress and the way towards achieving universal access to contraception in Francophone West Africa. A parliamentary panel discussed how to leverage opportunities for further investments in supplies for Reproductive Health and Family Planning as the way forward to achieve and surpass the objectives of the Ouagadougou Partnership, the UN 2030 Agenda and the African Union 2063 Agenda. The parliamentarians adopted a declaration reaffirming parliamentary commitment to support the Ouagadougou Partnership achieve and surpass its objectives for 2020. Moreover, they exchanged on strategic priorities for parliamentary action between parliamentary delegates and family planning champions in the region.
