Publication type: Atlas  |  Post date: 22/06/2023

The HPV Prevention Policy Atlas is a research project led by the European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights and jointly with the European Cancer Organisation. It investigates how European public authorities perform across three key areas: primary prevention, secondary prevention (screening) and online information. The tool aims to provide up-to-date publicly available information across all countries of the WHO European region in line with the WHO Cervical Cancer Elimination Strategy and Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.

HPV-related cervical cancer is a preventable and curable disease. Yet every year, over 25,000 women die from cervical cancer in Europe. The HPV Prevention Policy Atlas scores 46 countries throughout geographical Europe on national cervical cancer screening and HPV vaccination programs as well as online information to highlight political will to prevent cervical cancer in Europe.
