France: Symposium on Feminism

PARIS, 7 March – Ahead of the International Women's Day, National Assembly President Hon. Claude Bartolone and the National Assembly Women's Rights Delegation organized a public symposium on the theme "Who are the new feminists?" The event featured  interventions by members of the Women's Foundation, Georgette Sand, Zero Macho, Pay ta tawny, Feminist Collective against Cyber-Harassment and Les Glorieuses. The Speaker of the French National Assembly Hon. Claude Bartolone signed the commitment convention for a public communication without gender stereotype, in the presence of Danielle Bousquet, President of the High Council for Equality between Women and Men (HCE) and former EPF Vice-President. In addition, the National Assembly Women's Rights Delegation recently adopted an information report on the various measures adopted during this legislature on gender equality and their implementation, including on the fight against gender-based violence, equality in politics and in the economic and social spheres, sexual and reproductive rights.  Read the full information report here and an executive summary here (in French).
