European Parliament & Council agree increase in SRHR budget line

STRASBOURG & BRUSSELS - On 25 October, the European Parliament (EP) adopted a budgetary amendment calling for an increase of the budget line dedicated to human development under the Development Cooperation Instrument (DCI) of 12.5 million Euros. This increase was subsequently agreed with the Council in negotiations on 18 November.This budget line includes funds for sexual and reproductive health and rights, youth empowerment and gender equality and stands now at the level of approximately 205, 8 million Euros in the EP’s position.
