BRUSSELS - The European Parliament’s Committee for Development (DEVE) voted on its opinion for the Parliament’s position on the post-2020 multi-annual budget for the EU. The DEVE Committee stated the “need to invest in powerful enablers for sustainable human development such as SRHR” and “considers that an increase in investment in access to sexual and reproductive health and rights is necessary to help counter the negative impact of the reinstatement of the Global Gag Rule”.
The Parliament’s budget committee, which is leading on this report, will vote on the final report on February 21-22. The European Parliament’s plenary session will vote on the report during the week of March 12.
