BRUSSELS, 8-12 October – This week marked the European Week of Action for Girls 2018, otherwise known as EU Girls Week. The 5-day programme of events and activities gave girls the opportunity to talk to EU decision-makers and help shape a better world for all girls.
They addressed EU leaders on what needs to be done to overcome the barriers they face and to ensure their rights are respected, protected and fulfilled. The programme also encouraged more open discussion on the numerous threats to the safety, wellbeing and futures of girls around the world today, sparking a dialogue among European MPs and MEPs about how to tackle them.
