NEW DEHLI, 12-13 December – During the week of International Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day, a delegation of six MPs went to New Delhi for the PMNCH Partner’s Forum. The visit began with a site visit the Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Hospital and Maternal Health Clinic, organised by Manmohan Sharma, Executive Secretary of IAPPD.
The delegation then contributed wholeheartedly to the parliamentary conclave. Each shared valuable information on what they are doing to improve maternal and child health in their respective countries and underlined the importance of partnerships. Finally, MPs participated in a concurrent session on the role of parliamentarians in ensuring accountability for women’s, children’s and adolescents’ Health and the case of UHC, where Hon. Malahat Ibrahimqizi, MP (Azerbaijan) and Hon. Sandra Pereira, MP (Portugal) gave a presentation about EPF’s activities in relation to UHC and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
