MEPs for Sexual and Reproductive Rights, which includes MEPs from across different political groups, have sent a letter to the Polish authorities following the indictment of protesters and supporting the right to peaceful demonstration of women's rights defenders in Poland.
"We wish to express our deep concern about the indictment filed by prosecutors against three leaders of the mass protests against a near-total ban on abortion in Poland", the letter states. MEPs for Sexual and Reproductive Rights argue that "the current actions of the Polish Government can only be considered as a move designed to evade democratic and public scrutiny".
