The European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual & Reproductive Rights (EPF) conducted a parliamentary delegation to the 67th session of the United Nation’s Commission on the Status of Women (CSW 67) from the 6th – 10th of March, 2023. The main aim of this visit was to learn more about CSW process and its attendant challenges in general, and about achieving gender equality in the digital age and how Parliamentarians can advocate for it in particular.

During the week-long session, the delegation participated in various plenary sessions and side events, and has conducted a number of meetings with partners with a focus on advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights, particularly for women and girls. The delegation also advocated for the inclusion of a gender perspective in all aspects of development, and for the elimination of discrimination and violence against women and girls.

One of the key events attended by the delegation was a panel discussion on the role of parliamentarians in advancing gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. The EPF vice president Hon. Bojan Glavašević (MP, Croatia) highlighted the important role that parliamentarians can play in promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights, and urged for greater political will to address these issues.

The delegation also held meetings with various UN agencies and member states, including the European Union, to discuss ways to strengthen support for sexual and reproductive health and rights, and to share best practices and experiences.
