Marina Davidashvili, Head of Policy and Research, leads EPF’s comparative policy research, including the Global Contraception Policies Atlas and Atlases on HPV Prevention, Access to Abortion, and Access to Fertility Treatments. During her tenure, Marina has spearheaded advocacy in Eastern and Central Europe and represented EPF at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. An accomplished author and co-author, she is a sought-after speaker at thematic congresses and conferences, sharing her expertise on advancing SRHR policies globally.

Societal inequalities and the double burden faced by women in Eastern Europe have inspired her to study the issue at university and became part of her thesis. She further continued her career path by joining the office of the Women's rights spokesperson for the Socialist group at the European Parliament, followed by the Party Executive of Social Democrats in Berlin, Germany and currently EPF to work on the empowerment of women through ensuring women’s reproductive independence and choices. 

Marina comes from Baku, Azerbaijan and holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Western University in Baku and a Master’s Degree in European Studies from Hamburg University. She is fluent in English, German, Russian and Spanish and has a good command of French.
